Thanks letter

Dear Navo team:

I think after the huge amount which has been said in these emails, I feel a few things have been placed in the wrong mouths.

So i would like to issue a huge thanks to Tracy and NAVO for the tour and the amount of thing above and beyond the call of duty which were handled during our short time in China.

Things didnt exactly start out smoothly with us arriving -1 vehicle, and with two people needing transport, from before we entered the country Tracy was on the case looking for solutions and being incredibly flexible.

on day 3 it seemed that everything was doomed to failure, renting a car seemed far too expensive (18,000 yuan + 30,000 yuan deposit) and the option of buying motorcycles had been explored and found impossible. Throughout the whole of this Tracy continued to be more than willing to seek out solutions, as we couldn’t speak the language, after negotiating a taxi and price for us, Tracy was able to write up a contract (one which would be tested) which ensured we would have transport at a fair price (500 yuan per day excluding petrol, tolls and return), and that we would be able to continue with the tour.

After this we had the different foods 'required' within the group, and some medical things which caused a few chemist trips and a hospitalisation. all of this to me was far above and beyond the call of duty - remembering that NAVO were hired to lead a self driving tour through china and organise the entry and exit paperwork.

The schedule we accepted was very possible, but we had a realisation when a traffic jam held us up for 4 hours we had a discussion and it was decided that the slight extra cost of a few days was more than worth while, the other option being to skip out visits, and turning the chinese tour into little more than transit, I would like to make it very clear here that I dont recall anyone ever saying it was impossible to drive the distances required in the time available, our vehicles were cruising on the motorway at 90km/h and that average speed dropped a lot in mountanous and difficult roads, but it was still very possible. we made the decision based on the enjoyment that would have been lost.

So I would again like to thank NAVO and Tracy for being hugely helpful througout the whole trip, It was great.

Regards

Tom Tyer-Drake
