When we were first planning our trip we did not know where we would end up but we had an idea about our starting point. We thought that it would be nice to visit some places in China as well as a couple of countries in South East Asia. So we decided to start our journey in Kyrgyzstan, which was the easiest country for us to travel to and stay in.
Traveling by motorhome is an ideal way to enjoy traveling in China, you can drive wherever you want and wherever you want. You will meet a lot of people traveling with their motorhomes, so you won’t be in complete solitude. We had a lot of fun together and we even learned a lot from each other while we were on this trip. Before we started our trip, we took the time to do some research on the internet.
We entering from Kashgar Turgate Port, Kashgar is a beautiful city, which is known as the “Gateway to China.” The city is located in the northwest part of Xinjiang Uighur Autonomous Region. It is known for its Silk Road history and culture.
Kuqa, the capital of Kucha, is the home to several ancient Buddhist caves. The town is located on the west bank of Yarkand River in the north-central part of Xinjiang Uighur Autonomous Region. It is also known as the “Buddha’s birthplace”. We spent four days in Kuqa. We went hiking in the mountains and exploring the city.
Dunhuang is located in Gansu Province. We spent one day in Dunhuang, there are many historical sites in the oasis. The most important ones include the Mogao Grottoes, a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
Chengdu is the capital of Sichuan Province. We were there for three days and two nights. We had a great time together and visited many different places. The most memorable was the Panda Breeding Center, which is a research center for the giant panda. We had a lot of fun and we learned a lot from each other.
This giant Buddha is the largest in China and is situated in the city of Leshan. If you go to the mountain, would be able to get a good view of the huge statue and all the details of the Buddha. It’s hard to describe the beauty of the Leshan Giant Buddha. You will feel like you have traveled back in time and you will be astonished at the enormous size of this giant Buddha.
The second place on our list was Yunnan. This is one of the famous provinces in China we really enjoyed our time in Yunnan. It is home to lots of beautiful places and lots of interesting sights. The people are very friendly, so you will be welcomed with open arms everywhere you go. The culture is very different compared to the rest of China. We were lucky to travel through the minority regions, where you will find some of the most interesting things to see in this province. We explored some of the old streets, taste some local food. We did not stay long in Yunnan but we had a wonderful time while we were there.
Our trip to China was really amazing and we hope to return again. It was a great trip, we really enjoyed ourselves and we met a lot of new people.
